Who We Are

Soccer Beyond Borders was founded with the mission to help athletes become soccer players who live their life with a purpose. This mission began at an orphanage in Port Au Prince before it moved to its new outpost in Gressier Haiti (Respire Haiti) in 2012.

Since landing in Gressier Haiti, Soccer Beyond Borders reach and impact has grown. Over the last few years, we have assisted in:

• funding a soccer program that is structured to keep young men and women to stay in school

• hosting annual tournaments to bring hope in desperate times

• launching multiple players onto the Haitian national team

• developing young leaders through the lessons taught by the coaching staff

• supporting a Saturday neighborhood training which includes a meal, a life lesson and one-on-one life mentoring.

What We Do

We have now expanded our reach to the Chicagoland community using the same model proven to be so successful overseas. We select dedicated players to provide them with quality opportunities to grow as soccer players and overachieve in life. We offer:

• Skill assessment and development

• Individualized Mentoring

• Connections to the best coaches and trainers for each situation

• Enhanced game understanding

• Personal character development and guidance

• SBB identification and opportunities to be seen by clubs, colleges and/or scouts.

We know we are unique in a world where “pay to play” is an accepted norm. We only partner with those who understand the greater benefits of soccer. The game teaches a whole new way of living. We foster this growth by stressing “player development first” in the sport as well as in relationships to erase the economic, cultural, social and racial injustices that keep young people from achieving their dreams.

Practically, Soccer Beyond Borders strives to:

• Never charge those selected for our services. 

• Never affiliate with any one club, facility, school, FIFA agent or professional academy. 

• Only establish relationships with those who embrace the 'player first' philosophy.

• Always be a non-profit organization funded solely by grants and the goodwill of those they serve.
